Now you're at the top of rivers, you should have a beautiful view of the vineyard and you may also be able to spot the two rivers, the Test and the Anton, in the distance. Summer activities in the vineyard include canopy management, which essentially entails us keeping the canopy nice and neat to encourage airflow and avoid any risk of disease, and also some leaf stripping, to ensure our baby grapes are getting a good amount of sun.
Animal management also becomes important now too. We have to protect against pesky wasps, snails and birds, as well as rabbits who strip the vines bark, deer who enjoy the leaves on the canopy and badgers who will take and eat whole bunches of grapes.

天気が良ければ、遠くに、テスト川とアントン川の2本の川を見つけることができるかもしれません。
夏の畑では、さまざまな作業が行われます。
主な作業のひとつは、キャノピー管理です。
これは、ぶどうの木の葉や枝を整えて、風通しを良くし、病気を防ぐための作業です。
また、葉の一部を取り除く作業、リーフストリッピングも行います。
これにより、育ち始めたばかりのぶどうの実に、しっかりと太陽の光が当たるようになります。
この時期はまた、動物対策も欠かせません。
ぶどうを狙うスズメバチやカタツムリ、鳥たちへの対応に加え、
樹皮をかじるウサギや、葉を食べるシカにも注意が必要です。
さらに、ぶどうの房ごと持ち去ってしまうアナグマまでいて、防がなくてはならない相手はたくさんいます。
